Stop on in for a cup of coffee!

Plans? They always get screwed up, but here's mine, get the '72 W200 crew cab on the road. Brakes all around, probably new lines too. Clean the spare tank out and swap it in, maybe even give it some exhaust. Good thing about living in the country, I don't care if the lights work, I can still take it out for a shakedown run, and use my arms for signals. I wonder how many cops know about those these days? Of course I'll start off each day of working on it with my Fufu. Been too many years of that truck waiting patiently, you can tell it's former military, ready with a gentle prodding.

I have a few projects of my own I would like to do this coming year, just depends on time and money. Something I think we all struggle with.

When are you going to get to those projects?

2019 is the plan, the one is Jacob's (my youngest) 89 CR125R bike, I have one more part to get then it will go back together. When all the parts are sitting here he will be after me to finish it, so for sure this one will get finished. It had a problem with the governor for the power valve, he broke the shifter, the clutch cable and we found a couple holes in the side case under the water pump impeller.

I found some great info on a bike site for the power valve, we ordered up a used case half, clutch cable and shifter (Merry Christmas son). Now I have to take apart the governor and get a bearing.
I never thought the case would corrode like it did, the earlier bike 86-88 used the same case but it was Magnesium and would corrode badly, the later cases 89-97 are Aluminum and not supposed to corrode. His is bad right under the water pump impeller and someone ran too long of a bolt through the water pump cover putting a hole through the case allowing water to seep around the threads.
When I get a chance I will get a pic.

Anyone ever have Rock Auto ship the wrong parts? I ordered a lower intake set and a valve cover set with upper intake gaskets for a 2000 Ford Explorer that I am going to fix for a friend and they sent me the wrong part. I am not sure how someone screwed this one up.

This is the order

I think most of you guy's will know what these are.......

Looks like small block Mopar to me, sure not 4.0 OHV Explorer valve cover gaskets. The lower intake set is right though.

Haven't had a wrong order from them myself, but beware: I read somewhere recently that there is no longer (phone) support for anything at Rock Auto. So things like this can create a considerably bigger hassle for people who have any type of problem. Good luck with your exchange order Sporty! I hope that maybe they changed their tune. I think about things like this now when considering ordering from them with their lower prices and fairly high shipping versus buying elsewhere!

I have ordered a few times from RockAuto, and so far I have received exactly what I ordered .... fingers crossed that it continues.
My latest order of 2 brake wheel cylinders and a set of rear shoes was spot on....but I didn't get a fridge magnet. i searched the box, but nothing. I guess there is a minimum order value...even though the fast shipping was $85 for a $40 order. :woot:
I ordered the parts on Friday afternoon my time, and by Monday lunchtime they were at my door....that's what I call service....and from 10,000 miles away. I can't even get a package from across town that fast.

I got a magnet with this shipment and they responded to my problem and I should have the correct part on Thursday.

I haven't gotten one in quite sometime now, regardless of how big the order. I think they might have cut out that as well. There are almost a dozen on my fridge!:(
I have 3 so far...all Euro cars I think.. :woot:

I'm thinking of moving to the equator, so I can drive year round. Below zero across the whole state of Minnesota? Why do I stay here? The Fufu is good, but I'm wondering if it's that good. Gotta build my shop, management called it a garage, whatever, I can handle a huge garage!

On cup number two of the Fufu. Just got done with the dentist, a good start to my six days off, the last time I will be so fortunate to have a long weekend, as my work is changing back to their old schedule, seven days a week, work three days one week, four days the next. Three weekends in a row on, three off. It really screwed with my vacation hours, I need ten days now instead of four or six. Oh well, I'm still employees, so far. We don't seem to be on the brink of closing, so that's hopeful. But my ability to get things done running all over, is all but gone. I thought back about last year and what I accomplished; a west coast swing dropping off a car and getting one, a vacation to Nashville and Memphis, taking one car to Chicago, getting the other on the road, getting another car in July, and yet another in November. It all happened because of those six day mini vacations. A big bummer.

I did some needed maintenance this morning, 2 cups of coffee, oil change on my son's car, oil change on my Vue, repaired his buddy's exhaust on his Escape (flex section), replaced a broken shock ( he only wanted the one) and changed his oil also. I am blessed that I can do my own work at the shop I work for.

I'm wishing I had a place to work on anything, water in the garage, water in my new storage unit. Ice all over the driveway, but that doesn't matter because a camper is blocking the driveway. And all the warmer weather is playing mind games with me. Being told I have to sell a car, yeah, sure. Telling her son I'm giving him a car, yeah, right. Being told I can only have one car at the house at a time. Time to get the ball rolling of my shop, I know I'm not going to sell anything by force, or give anything away. Good kid, just needs to get a couple priorities figured out. But I'm not giving him the car for free, it would be like rewarding someone for not doing what they need to do. Plus, he hasn't said one word about it in almost a year.

They fixed the Fufu machine at the gas station I go to. Now it fills the cup all the way. The downside is that I no longer have room for my whipped cream and caramel topping. Life is rough.
