89 W150 for my son!

This is my old truck from high school. I brought it from my parents home to my home with the plan of selling it. I was going to finally give up on the dream of getting it back to its former glory. Then my son said those words that made me as happy as can be! "Dad, I think I want the old truck. Would you help me fix it up?" Well the wife is pissed off about it but I'm over the moon excited for the project. More details soon!

As it sits it has a 318, 727, NP241, Dana 60s with 4.10s front and rear. It's on dry rotted 38" Swampers so they will be replaced with some 35 or 37" MT tires that will be more streetable than the Swampers. Plan is to replace the stock TBI with a Sniper or FI Tech EFI unit. I want to keep the AC and cruise but I know they both rely on the TBI computer so that will be a trick. I'll document it here because my memory is crap. Wish me luck!

Actually her truck is a nice red 03 quad cab sport with a 5.7 so it would be a good truck for him too, but we are most excited about the build process on the 89!

Replace the rocker because if I remember correctly there plenty cheap and there rust everywhere but you just can't see it yet.

I'm totally stoked for you hops. I'm doing a 90 W150 that had the TBI and, I'm rewiring the whole dag thing. It's a bit of a bitch but, slow and steady can be done. Enjoy this time you have with the kids.

Well we did a bunch more work and spent a bunch more money! Whole bottom of the cab has a nice coat of black Undercoating so it can be put back on the frame soon! Got the drivetrain installed and fired her up! Bought new wheels and tires! That hurt a bit but was money well spent.
