I was driving I75 at seventy took my exit and upon breaking the right rear brake locked up, she veered wildly off the road. I struck a post and destroyed the left quarter of the bed. No injury no other damage.

Before this accident, I replaced the three lines off the brake skid control. Replaced all steel fluid lines on the frame and rear axle, both rear flexible lines. I noticed no oil leak on any brake assembly. We took it on vacation pulling a twenty-seven-foot trailer, almost three thousand miles. Not one problem with the brakes.

Since the accident, I reinspected my work for leaks and things I didn't service. The right rear was very touchy so replace both rear calipers. Still, the right side locks up. A problem with the rear brakes? I'm not seeing it.

BTW: I picked up a so-so condition bed in Bay City Michigan for twelve hundred bucks. She's almost ready to hit a hundred grand on the odometer, otherwise in good condition.

Very nice looking truck. Could be your brake hose collapsing on the inside when the brake pedal is released it will still hold pressure to the caliper I have seen it happen a few times

New hoses.

Thanks

Does it have ABS or any other type of factory braking controller?
It does and replaced the lines due to rust at the distribution block on the frame with factory parts.
Only one line feeds the rear brakes. After the new lines, we drove almost three K miles pulling a trailer without incident.
As an experiment, I pinched off the affected right brake line with a hammer.
Drove it on the left only which appeared to be working normally previously locked up, but less aggressively.
In any incident, this brake lockup occurred on heavy braking.

Thanks

On my Wrangler the brakes would loc the rt front puling a load on heavy breaking and I had to replace the caliper it was 2 years old

Thanks, I replaced both calipers and still had the brake lock. It's possible that the left could be the reason for not functioning. Like I said after pinching off the right brake line the left locked up but much less than the right.
