Will 4th gen 2014 Ram 1500 wheels fit 1996 Ram 1500?

Folks do any of you know or have tried this?

Will 4th gen 2014 Ram 1500 wheel fit a 1996 Ram 1500?

Both seem to have the same 5.5” x 5 bolt pattern.

Here’s a pic of the specific wheel I’m looking at. They are 17x7“, existing are 16x7”

I was corrected. Apparently the 2014 is 4th gen.

If the bolt pattern is the same and as long as the offset isn't way off I would try. Going the other way 17" to 16" sometimes you have a problem with the wheel hitting the brake caliper

If you are plan on going to any type of performance tire in the future for the 17's you better start looking now. Low profiles are available but anything of height have not been found. Kind of defeats the purpose of going to 17's.
