Most in (what I'll call) this series of websites cater to Mopar enthusiast's. Which is great because there are already more than plenty of websites for the other guys.
Why then is this site in particular, so vague in separation and topics pertaining to dodge trucks?
Gee, there's "general Dodge truck" and "older than 81" whoopee.
But just like the car shows that categorize all the different models of GM cars and have separate trophies for each, then lump all Mopars into one,
this site splits GM and Ford body style by body style,
but not so much for Dodge trucks...

What were you thinking? Different divisions for D, W and the 0000 series Rams. I don't think we have enough traffic for to big a break down.

well for example even the Ford section is divided something like that.... more by body style than the Dodge section is
I'd not say to seperate D from W, but maybe a pre 64, 64-71, 72-80, 81-93 (maybe combine those 2?) and 94 and newer.
I understand being as established as it may be, it might be hard to do "now".... itll be a job to go thru all thats been previously posted and split that up. but most people that use any forums are more likely to ask what they are seeking instead of searching for the answer from the last 28 times someone posted that same thing since said forum was created....

Thats one reason I quit going to "open" car shows.... their classifications go something like;
best early chevy / best 55-57 / best full size 58-64/ best full size 65-76 best corvette (and those subdivided by series) best 60s chevelle best 70s chevelle 2-3 for nova and a few classes for the other GM divisions
then Best mustang, usually additional class for each "gen" mustang/ best mid size ford/ Best full size Ford/ maybe a class just for "shoebox:" years besides/
then "best Mopar/ Best AMC" and thats it. they seperate GM with many trophy classes, Fords with a few less but more than Mopars and then 1 trophy for all encompassing Mopar..... its never been fair.
Being most of these forums in this series are "For _____ bodies only" plus a Classic Roadrunner Forum which are all Mopar oriented.... (FABO doesnt apply to GM A bodies does it?)
well then why does THIS site split up GM trucks and Ford trucks yet cram all the various Dodge trucks together?
How bout the A100/A108? How bout the B vans ?(Sportsman.Tradesman) // Ramcharger? No respect. Just like LMC, you can get more for a Studebaker or IHC there than for a 60s/70s Dodge truck....
I don't understand why THIS site in general doesn't get the viewership that the F_BO sites do..... its put on by the same group after all, but we're at the bottom of them all, in general/ like an afterthought.
as someone who has never owned a Ford a GM, or an import in 40 years of being a licensed driver, I'm tired of Dodge being an afterthought in general. The farthest I've strayed from Dodge is I've owned a few 87 and newer Jeeps (newer models than when the buyout by Mopar happened)

Guess the ruling bodies don't think there was enough different 72-93 in the D or W design. Yes, somethings will interchange but others don't. Try adding 72 doors to an 82. Yes, they will mount but what about the body line.

But none of this drove my away from car shows. It was your car has to be perfect or we don't want it here. That and my car is a resto original that started life as a slant six car and now has a 440. But you know it's completely original. Fools didn't even know that the original vin said it wasn't what it was. Yes, that's what drove me away from car shows. I would rather look at someone's beater he has been trying to make drivable and knows what he has. Yep, you got it. I don't think much of liars, thieves or general scoundrels.

Ok the body likes are a little different from 72-82 (as your example) but cabs and frames are the same if you use all the sheet metal from either year on the other cab..... I think 72-93 could be one topic heading easily enough.
It still shows that there's better body style division here at this site even among the lowly Ford's, they're less clumped together than Dodge trucks as represented here.

And that "1st gen" BS on dodges ., 81-93 definitely wasn't the 1st gen of Dodge truck. That would have been the ones they made in the 1920s not the 80s...... That's another one that pisses me off with anyone that talks anything about trucks...... Especially the Ford and Chevy guys talking about our Dodges ....

I would have to agree with you on the latter. We also don't want to forget the Plymouth trucks. They are rare as hens teeth but they do poop up occasionally.

As to 72-92 cab and box mountings. They sure look the same but are not.
Try mounting a 92 body on a 73 frame someday. All I can say is don't discard the 92 frame till your done.

And FOR ONCE the Dodge section needs to be ON TOP not bringing up the bottom

I believe most of us here own at least one Dodge or Ram.
Not sure if I will ever get use to the Dodge less truck world.

So why are the Dodge headings at the bottom?
Most of the sites related to this one are Mopar based after all, aren't they? Especially since as stated in the post before this one, "most of us HERE, own at least one Dodge"

Only the powers to be can answer that one.
