Speedometer cable(s) for 85 D100

Just spoke with my mechanic. He purchased a speedometer cable for my D100 but discovered it is the wrong one. If the truck came with cruise control, the speedometer requires 2 separate "cables" for it to work. If I choose not to use cruise control, can the single speedo cable work? If not, does anyone know of a vendor or junkyard that may have to speedo setup for cruise control?
Also, is there a gps speedometer that will take the place of my stock speedometer? I can take my time finding the cables I need. I can always track my speed with my phone. Dodge owners never say die!

Probably a little longer than needed, but that's all I've ever found as new aftermarket.

Someone put a GM steering column in my 85 D100. I have no way now to engage the cruise control. I believe I can go from the tranny direct to the speedometer. I'll find out soon.

If you’re bypassing the cruise, then it’s just a standard cable for the non-cruise truck.

Be careful with the plastic end piece that fits into the speedo.

They tend to break. You can actually get just the end fitting and a ferrule to clamp it on from some specialty companies. The firewall gasket is also available.
