Hello everyone,
I picked up a 1979 Dodge W150 Power Wagon over the weekend that I plan to restore and use. I'm currently researching the truck's history and original specs, but I'm having a hard time finding online resources to decode the trim tag for W150 trucks.

What the fender tag seems to show is:
138732 W1 115 Conv Cab
PY7875
W14JE95228185 KJ022001

Would anyone know how to decode this or point me in the direction of a place that may have info on late 70's trucks?

The fender tag on this era didn't say much, as you probably already figured out.

138732 - assembly plant internal code or order number
W1 - Half ton
115 - Wheel base
Conv Cab -self explanatory
PY7875 - Paint code - Teal Frost Metallic (very nice color and not very common)
W14JE95228185 - VIN
KJ022001 - assembly plant internal code or order number

Thank you for this information. I have had some older Mopar cars and was able to decode them, this is my first dodge truck of this era and did not realize there was not a lot to go off of.
Yeah the inside the cab and engine bay is still a Teal color so it could be original, the outside was changed to a blue color.

I'll assume that the paper 'fender tag' with the build codes stuck to the under side of the hood is long gone. If the door jam VIN sticker is still there and readable there's a bit more info that can be gleaned from that.

Starting in 81 Dodge started putting a traditional metal fender tag with the build codes on the pickups. I've seen most of them under the cowl panel on the right side, readable through the slats. I wish they started that decades before!
