We actually had some sunshine and decent temps today, so I figured I'd try and trim some of that pesky scotch broom (if it's around 2" base stem diameter or larger it's less likely to drop seeds and sprout back). Problem: the clutch on our MAIN chainsaw seized, so now we have no working chainsaw. One needs a carb rebuilt, the other needs the clutch unstuck. Can't cut it otherwise, our loppers aren't big enough for a lot of this stuff
I didn't know what scotch broom plants were so I googled it, wild pretty weeds, crazy, looks like snow returning in your area depending on elevation

They're an invasive pest all up the Pac-Northwest, they grow fast & plentiful and they're hard to kill. Slack for one year and they'll push in. They're worse than blackberries, blackberries at least have berries to offer up. In most cases they'll drop seeds if disturbed or pruned, so even if you pull a juvenile plant it'll try to drop seeds and you'll have to watch for any sprouts coming up. Mature plants are less likely to drop seeds if you cut em at the base. Removal works best in late summer after they drop seeds and the soil is too dry/malnourishing for them to recover, but you can do it early spring too if you catch it early enough.

Also, no snow here. We're under 1000ft

How about trying a match! You could call it a controlled burn! The forestry service does that to prevent fires from getting out of hand. You might even be able to write it off as your contribution woodland preservation-LOL :cigar:

LOL wish I could but too much "other" burnable stuff nearby. Can't write-off the neighbor's house!

The more it snows, the more I dislike it! These Nor-Easters really suck! This is the 4th one in approx. 3 weeks! Especially when it's supposed to be Spring! Anyone want to buy a house in the woods in NJ? (Cheap) I'm planning to move to somewhere on the equator! At this stage of the game, Hell is starting to sound attractive! LOL

OK, remember my recommendation of moving to the northwest to escape the snow? Maybe hold off on that. Snowed yesterday morning, warmed up and melted some but kept snowing all day. Stopped in late afternoon, so I went into town to hang with a friend for a while. It's pretty late and as I make my way home, much more snow on the ground than earlier, even worse nearest to home. Driving a 2wd Ranger, with crap tires, and hit an inch of snow around a corner by the river, there was a bit of butt-cheek clenching when that rear end kicked out. Managed to make it home without hitting anything or ending up in the ditch luckily

Dry here still, but the wind's a blowing hard. Gusting between 15-30 mph and it's still in the 30's. BRRR!!!

So it started drizzling last night, turning into big flakes coming down on the dog. We both fell asleep in the living room, woke up at 3:15am. Let out Sophie, hey! No big deal, only about an inch. Weather folks need a new computer. Went to bed, and woke up to this;

I'm about to start on the last shovel of the year, hopefully. It's going to be in the 40's for a week or more, this stuff ain't gonna be here long. Laura said I can't have a plow truck, "we don't have enough room for all kinds of crap". Hmm, the back yard seems like it would hold a few more vehicles... She suggested a $500 plow for my 98 3/4 ton, yeah, is that made from cardboard? Need property and a shed, then I could leave it there! Where's my money tree? Gotta be buried treasure out in the yard somewhere.

Spring is teasing us down here in southern MN, I can feel the rumble of the Polara!

Then did it twice again getting it out of the way, mostly, for the plow guy. I left it the last time, the shovel got what it could, now I need a smaller shovel to get under the rest. Radio just said we got 9". Supposed to have a rain/snow mixture overnight, all rain by Monday. A beer sounds good right about now, sigh. Coffee will have to do, it will give me some energy to dig through the garage, got to ship some carburators to their new hoarders!

What does it fit? It has been a while since I have seen something with a hard line to the vacuum advance
66 273 just did a 50 Plymouth and it has a brass 90 on it true hard line. Seems they went with that design for a while 40's to mid 60's the nipple for the rubber showed up around 62 fr4om what I can tell, order one it comes without the spring/shims/end so really just taking a guess from what I have seen. Getting busy a lot being sent to me now it is spring!
