Did I do the title right?

Hello everyone.
I hail from Australia. I've been in the US for a couple years now and it's time I bought a truck.
I bought my first vehicle last year (2001 Infiniti QX4) but it has too many problems and it's not a truck.

Would this thread be a good place to ask for advice? I can go as high as $11,000.
I want a 4WD and preferably a crew cab, but an extended might do it.

I don't need anything huge as I would mainly be using it just to drive to work, but I would like the usefulness of a truck bed and 4WD capability just in case.

Needs a good AC too, so I figured the newer the better (again I don't know much about vehicles)

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Welcome from the Mitten. Your going want a 1500, a GM 5.3, a Ram 5.7 Hemi, a Ford 5.0 are all great choices. 3V 5.4 Fords can have oiling problems causing problems with the variable cam timing and the 2 piece spark plugs can break when changing them requiring a special tool for removal. I prefer the V8's over the V6 engines.

Welcome aboard Fosty! I like your avatar! Like Sporty said above, look for a V-8. I have known people over the years who bought the same year and model vehicle, the only difference was one bought a V-8 and the other a six. As funny as it sounds, the guys with the V-8 got better mileage than the six. It was explained to me that you have to push a vehicle that is somewhat underpowered whereas the V-8 could do it without working so hard. Good luck with your search.:)

Thanks for the welcome and the tips. I'll let you guys know how my search unfolds.

I worked with a guy who owned one he loved the power but said it was a gas hog. He's the only person I have ever known to own one. I hope others will chime in on this.

Yeah I'm reading about 14/15 MPG
Which is the average of my QX4 (according to the internet) so I guess I won't notice too much of a difference.

I hope you can get 14-15. They told Teddy he would get 15-18 but he averaged 12-13 with his.

Dang.
Right now the two for sale in my area that seem to fit what I want are either that Titan for $9700 or a 2007 Frontier 4WD crew cab for about $8000.

My father in-law has a Frontier and it seems do pretty well for hauling scrap and doing ranch work, he just says he wished he got the 4WD version.
You guys think I should jump on one of these or wait a bit longer?

What about a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 ST? (What does the ST mean?)
Got one here at 166k miles for $6500.
