doing my cab floor replacement a little different . just bought this 61 , it will fit or replace orangey's damage and her rust out .

Thanks Kiwigtx! It looks like the floor replacement is on hold till September due to scheduling issues, but I will share as the process begins!Nice looking parts Bart. Great that there is someone out there who takes the time to make these with care and quality. I'm looking forward to the progress video

Has anyone done a floor replacement on one of these trucks before? I am wondering if we need to pull the cab off the truck or if the floor can be replaced with the cab in place? Anyone have any experience????

its way easier off , laying on its back . as welding goes , upside down sucks !

Only four cab bolts and two front clip. Any plans other than replacing the floor and how do you plan on lifting it? I can give you one hint the cab is very front end heavy.

unbolt it , lol . the steering column will be the only hold back . take the front clip as a whole . then the cab , oh ya you will need space to swing your yours about . fit can be a hammer n grind n bend to get fitment . buy good parts , less of that n more fitment . ;ots of clamps , and fit the doors to the jams before finish weld up . you could weld in cross bracing , door jams , firewall to jams , ect.... just to keep it were you want it . welding will twist n pull your set up around the welds . so jump around alot . counter act some of it . see why i bought another cab , lol . i have plenty of battles to win , before the war is over .

It really depends on how much floor you're going to replace. Small sections are no issue with the cab on. Even larger sections can be done by dividing the large piece into smaller sections. The down side is that you have more welding to do.

hey , my cab floor change is going well , this 61 d200 /6 runs to good to hotrod yet , going in a different direction . i need a truck for rental repairs from time to time . oh ya peeled those elephant ear mirrors off and all that tank n spray rig from its welded frame mounts , so i'm flat bedding with short side racks . and of course its berried under another n more . just a fork lift away , lol .
