As I am going through the elctrical diagrams looking for a connector that is just out there and not connected to another, the manual gives me the color of the connector. Is there a code to which electrical system we're looking at by he color of the connector. I am coming to the conclusion that this connector is for an option not present. Any help in correlating connector color to electrical circuitry?

Very common to have connectors that go nowhere (for options that weren't optioned in), especially under dash harnesses.

Thanks. That saves me some worry. As long as I have you, I have no way of setting speed control. Ca I remove the module without hassle?

Depends on the year. On my 89, there is a connector that I thought was insignificant. It's for a scanner. Turns out that it also has a power supply, power in, power out on one of the terminals. Mine weren't connected and it solved part of my problem.

The color of a connector in the electrical diagram does not usually indicate the specific electrical system or circuit. It often helps to identify different connectors for easier reference but is not directly tied to a code or system.

If the manual shows a connector color and you can’t find it connected to anything, it is possible that it's for an optional feature or a system that wasn’t included in your vehicle. Sometimes these unused connectors are left in the wiring harnesses for future use in case of upgrades or changes in vehicle configurations.

To confirm, you could:

Look for unused connectors: These might be for options not installed, like power windows, sunroof, or towing packages.

Check with a service manual: Some service manuals will list unused connectors and their purpose if they are for options that may or may not be present on your specific model.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more help figuring it out.
