Hi all,
My current toy is a 1988 Dodge D100 long bed. It was a Tennessee farm truck with a 318 that has about 155K on it and still spins the tires. It burns a little oil, but the compression is good, so I think it may be possible that the valve seals might be a bit brittle after all these years. the only other issue is the A/C and a few lights in the dash. Otherwise it starts every time and runs smoot and quiet.
I would like to know if there are some parts for sale, preferably in the Chicago area. Nothing in specific. although I have a few things on the wish list, soft bed cover for an 8ft bed, 15 turbine wheels, and a wire diagram.
My previous toy was a 1973 VW convertible. Fun car, it was like driving a legal go-cart. But too compact. Although I enjoyed working on it, I got tired of having to get on my knees or back to tinker with it.. so I got something where I can actually crawl into the engine compartment. I always wanted a mid 80's dodge truck.. and very happy I made the change, it is a great machine, and more useful than a VW.
