I have a 1965 F-100. I believe the engine is a 240 inline six. I have a late model 4.9 liter that I am trying to swap in. The 240 has a threaded hole on the drivers side at the back of the engine for a clutch pivot. The 4.9 liter does not have this threaded hole. 1) Is there enough material to drill and tap the 4.9 liter block? 2) Is there some kind of adapter for this swap?
I would hate to have to set up a slave cylinder or hydraulic TO bearing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
