It's already going to a new owner, after I'm dead. I'll never sell, got it for $1650 about 15 years ago. Only had a few old rides then. Bought more and kept this in the backyard, then a barn, then down to the storage unit it still sits in today. I am done buying projects, really, I sweat it this time! I have my unicorn four speed C body (Canadian Monaco) that needs everything, my Dart that was my first old Mopar, my first C body Polara, the Polara 500 that was supposed to replace the Polara, and two Monaco 500's. The second one was going to be a parts car for the four speed, but it's much nicer than the twin in storage with the truck, so it's going in the road and the twin will become the parts car. And I just got a 71 Monaco wagon. I think I'm good. I hope and pray I'm good, I'm out of space for the fleet.

My stepson and his wife asked for the Polara and Polara 500, and my friend asked for the four speed, and the wagon, I told him he's getting the truck too. Not sure who's getting the dart or the Monaco 500, but I'll find them a home before I'm gone.

The stepson should have bought the Polara after we brought home the 500, I still love that car and really don't want to sell it. That 500 is a California car that ended up in southern Oregon, my friend in Eagle Point paid for it and kept it for a week so I didn't lose out on the car, seller was very reluctant to let it go.

Four speed came out of Canada, at the edge of the west coast where I picked it up, then got hit 2 hours later, that sucked, but that's how I ended up with the second Monaco 500.

I got the wagon out of Idaho in April, and got two dogs with the car, couldn't let them go to a shelter.

I had to go to where the cars were, and I'd do it again, but only for a finished car, projects take too long!

I have land I plan on building a shop on, but not sure it will be as large as I planned, prices have skyrocketed. But I have no kids, just the dogs, so I have disposable income, and a ten year plan. Now I'm off to work on some cars, and sort out my mess of parts.

I stopped working on my cars last July, I feel like it's been ten years! Big car show last weekend, I got to fix my "fix" on the side of the road three time in 2.5 miles to limp to the parts store. Glad it was something simple. I hope to be back to full steam by the end of summer. Just got a diesel torpedo heater from a coworker for free, sucker kicks out 185,000 BTUs, so now I can work in the garage during winter. Hope to throw some insulation up this year. Just need a little bit of wiring done and the garage should be set up.

I like the wagon. Your garage is a nice size, insulation and a ceiling will help with the heat in the winter. You have room on your property for a shop? What size are you thinking?

My lot at the house is .32 acres. I could probably build another garage, but I have a couple acres about 15 minutes away I like to build a shop on. My plans are a 50x100 building, 16' walls, 1500 sq ft of living space, insulated, in floor heating, 1000 sq ft work bay and the rest storage for the fleet and parts. I'd like to be able to park a semi inside, for the stepson after I'm ashes. Get the fleet under one roof, and use the garage at the house for parking. Might not go as big as I planned years ago, the concrete prices today are what I planned to spend on the building itself. At today's prices, I'd be looking at $250k, but I priced out a metal building so I could go cheaper with wood/pole barn style building. Time will tell, I have a ten year plan, and I have few bills.

I got a 185,000 BTU diesel torpedo heater for free last week, that'll help warm up the garage. I plan on insulating it this year so I can work on something during the winter.

It's all in how I spend my money. Cars first, shop first, cars and shop at the same time (that might be tricky). I have a car that needs to be restored, probably the only one that will get the full treatment. I want to store that I'm a nice garage. But that's three years out at least, I'm going to drive it super scruffy first, then pay my body guy too much money. Maybe it's tile to start getting some overtime hours in.

I get the same way sometimes, feels like im spending forever just ordering parts. Doesnt help that everything takes weeks to get here, but as I start bolting stuff on, day by day, you start to notice as the weeks roll on that youre actually making progress

Love the selection of cars you got there. I got a 68 Roadrunner, and now my 78 W200. Stinging for a nice C body for my wife to cruise around in now. Pickings are slim round here, but every now and again, something pops up.

Yeah, you don't have the selection down there to just grab one and do some work. Shipping a car over is a spendy venture. Didn't they just about make it impossible to bring a car over without being absolutely sterile?

Your wife would love a big C body to glide down the road.

Without making this political....we had a Prime Minister who when he was a youngster back in the mid '40's, he bought a section, and would take a load of bricks every day to that section on his bicycle, and start building his own family home. It took him a while, but he did it all by himself.

He remains one of the most liked PM's to ever rule over NZ, no matter what party you vote for.

I just went thru the process for the first time with my truck so not impossible, but it really was highway robbery. 6 months from payment of truck until pickup locally. Not too bad considering the wait times for new cars at the moment.

Same here in NZ......if we brought over some of the cars I have seen on the various forums, they would be deemed unroadworthy......on close inspection.

I know a guy who imported a Daytona a few years ago, and the car was flagged for shoddy panel work under the rear window.

It took a lot of convincing to get that 'shoddy workmanship' OK'ed as being factory (Creative Industries) correct, and unmolested.

And I can put a rickety old pile of slapped together parts on the road with no worries whatsoever. I try not to, but I live in the country with very little traffic. Sometimes you just have to go for a drive, and those brakes work good enough! I'm glad I've driven complete piles of crap cars, it's helped me manage and diagnose the fleet if they are sketchy. I'll drive what many people won't if it isn't functioning 100% correctly. But then again, there's no cars to worry about.

That's a cool, cool concept for a project! Like a Crew Cab Top Hand truck. I've heard of a few Crew Cab trucks that were factory outfitted as LEs and LE/SEs, with matching fiberglass LE door panels in the rear. That would be a mind blower of an interior with buckets buddy seats front and rear. I would to see someone would re-pop all of those pieces.
