Transmission was left untouched....except for a new front end seal, and a change of fluid once re-installed. No leaks and it shifted well, so no need to mess around with it...
Engine was put on the dolly ready for reinstalling...
So I arrived at my Painter's house the next day after a longish day....and the paint was done...a huge surprise - he must have been up all night doing that for me....and I left around midnight...
All sorts of people pitched in to help get this truck ready for the Whangamata Beach Hop 2010....
Matt here is a Police Officer....(expertly installed the Dynomat with such little wastage, you could swear they were diecut pieces)
The one of many work spaces....
My buddy Wally (in the overalls) came by after work each night, he did long days at work as well...
Personalised plates had been ordered in advance....
Well, after only 90 days from the truck landing in New Zealand, till the time the Beach Hop cruise weekend started....thousands of man and woman hours went into to a total and pretty thorough rebuild. I still find it hard to believe we did make the deadline....and cannot get over how much a small and dedicated team can do....and how little sleep we could do it on...
Good to see the back flange on the engine block was cleaned of paint. The starter will like that.
90 days. Its hard to imagine just hours of assembly line time did it the first time.
Great build Kiwi, lots of work but it's looking awesome!!! I love the A100's and have been eyeballing a van just minutes from me, the wife unfortunately says ABSOLUTELY NOT LOL. Keep up the good work.
