    Why oh Why

The previous owner's cousin probably had some leftover parts from a previous mangled Hot Rod project and decided to use them. Also it may have been because a GM steering column is easier to adapt to modern power steering boxes - there are more options available.

On the road finnaly after 40 years

Very cool truck...and I do like the bench seat you made from the old tail gate. I have been wondering what to do with the centre part I cut out of mine. It was all beat up from years of cargo movement....then someone decided to hammer it - obviously not a Panel Guy....lol So far I have a bare...

On the road finnaly after 40 years

Actually the bed looks very much like the 78-79 D-series trucks. Is that a swap or stock.....'cause if it's stock the style is timeless. 👍

    69 240 pink resistor wire

I don't think it is possible to 'lose resistance' over time. If anything, the resistance would increase. I suggest the problem lies elsewhere.

Installing an electric Oil Pressure gauge

Please check voltages with a meter if you can before poking around....lol

Installing an electric Oil Pressure gauge

I am fairly sure you need a 5-volt supply to the 'S' terminal on the oil pressure gauge, and the other terminal gets the wire from the sender. The engine block serves as the ground for the oil gauge to work. The 5-volt supply will come from the dash regulator - which should be a small metal...

Installing an electric Oil Pressure gauge

That looks like the same dash as my A100. I have a voltage regulator mounted behind that 8-way spade distribution tab.

Maybe time to change the steering column again.

Is the switch still working OK now? You could put a small amount of di-electric greases on the terminals after the cleaning. 👍

    I got a new tool

I still have a load of Craftsmen wrenches and sockets that I bought from Sears in 1988.

    My life in Finland!

^^^ If I bought what I originally wanted it would have been over $16,000 and come from Australia - they have a monopoly on the supply with the mining operations there.

    My life in Finland!

I bought a 400 Volt/125 Amp plug and socket here last year, and it cost around $5,000 Here is a video of the plug.....

What to search / looking to buy

You may have to custom make a harness - you can get generic connectors - male & female, or source correct OE style connectors through eBay. I made my own up for my A100 as the OE stuff is not available.

Carlisle Chrysler Nationals 2024 Tent Activities

HawkRod (a moderator on FBBO) just sent the form in for the FxBO tent, so it is time to start planning the tent activities for this year's event.
