Since I can no longer justify keeping all the trucks I have, let me pick your brains a bit on the best way to ready some for sale. The first one that I'll likely sell off was built as my daily driver, finished that build in 2003, these are the specs:
360 @ +.040
Repro Mopar 340 cam
Headers and full duals w/crossover (2.5")
4 speed trans from a 72 Challenger
Leather bucket seats with console (heated w/lumbar support)
A/C; AM/FM/CD; Tonneau cover & bed mat
New BC/CC original colors in 2003
125,000 miles since redone in 2003, total of 325K on chassis

Now for the how much do you do? The headers have developed leaks and the Thorley Tri-Y's are no longer available, so leave it noisy (real noisy) and let the new owner worry about it or put some manifolds back on and fab head pipes to the duals? Not even going to consider different headers and mating them to the exhaust, if the same ones were available I might do that but they're not.

Just kind of wondering if any of you would consider it cost effective on sale to do anything but peddle it off.

Factor in how much it will cost to fix and deduct from asking price. Unless it needs it to drive, or make safe, I let the buyer correct it, but I do let them know what it needs.

It's the one in my Avatar = 83 D150 Prospector. Pretty 'luxe for the times but a long way from what there is now.

I agree with what Mob said . It makes sense . You can post it in the "trucks for sale" section and see what happens .

Being you know the truck price as is. If you have the time and need the income set a price on repairs agreed to by the buyer. As mob of said be honest about what you think it needs up front as the buyer may have a different opinion.

I just have some personality disorder that makes it very difficult to sell something that's not right I guess. Right now the exhaust on that thing is unbearably loud and sounds absolutely horrible - unless your right foot is on the floor with the motor running >5500 rpm, then it sounds absolutely fantastic!!! I just think the po-po would be busy creating a ticker tape parade if they were out and about when it went by and I don't feel right sending some poor slob out there that gets nailed before he has a chance to fix it. If I wasn't sure it would be a ticketable offense I wouldn't mind offing it with cosmetic or rust issues because it is definitely safe and reliable transportation, you just need earplugs to drive it.

It also depends on where the leak is are they leaking at the head or collector. If it's the head either double up on gaskets with the mr.gasket graphite and a little red silicone and same gos for the collectors or try some deadsofts and then you can ask for what you want confidently with a clear conscious and be able to sleep at night.

The old ones aren't really repairable, the holes are huge and I couldn't find much in the way of solid metal to weld to - so I bought some new headers, but of course the collectors are opposite so will need to weld them in - if I ever get one of them round tuits!!!.

I would have gone to a supply hose and got some 1/4" or a little smaller then cover and weld, just my 2 cents
