Picked up this 69 sight unseen. Pics I got made it worth sending a flatbed to get it with a title. I have no idea what kind of hack job someone was up to on the front. I normally do A bodies….

Looks like someone cut the front crossmember out and welded motor mounts for a different engine And the steering shaft looks cut off and not lined up with the box. & the rear side of that spring hanger has something going on and looks rusted out in the picture

A cross member from wrecking yard then a mopar big or small block will work with correct mounts I would do a 318 with auto they are lots around and put a steering column in for the auto tranny & maybe find a rusty parts truck

i've got a few of those here what i did to mine , hp 383 hot cam , chrysler electric dizzy with a msd 6 a , 650 carter afb on a eddy rpm airgap , headers with cutouts , added a dirt track modified steering wheel to be a bit diff it's just a driver

yes a agree the rear bellhousing mount has been removed , so it was a /6 3 on the tree . now it's read for anything . i choose big blocks because i've got them , but my driver right now is a 61 d200 /6 4spd it just turned 98k plus , fuel is 5.50 a gal . so my bb sit , i may convert them to e85 , it's about 3.5 a gal .

i planted that 383 auto in it in my yard , needed some blocks to move the engine up some from the /6 motor frame mounts and a special oil pan to clear that straight axle , front sump type trucks and some motorhomes use them . and i used a trans mount from a 69 d series with an auto . also i use factory big block brackets a from a motorhome here , on my crewcab i had siome d series oem mount brackets . i did replace the low gear 8 3/4 one legger with a 74 9 1/4 w 3.54 ls package and 11 rear drums as well . it still needs better brakes , a disc front setup would be a great improvement .
