Have done a few basic swaps, couple Hyundai ponies, sbc to sbc, sbf to sbf sbf to fe, no mopar, now that it's thawed out enough to open the bay door, I Can pull the 360, the 440 donor was prepulled by the owner, so any heads up, hints tips etc for my first sbm to bbm swap would be gratefully accepted

79 tradesman, currently has a late 60's early 70's 360, due to the 1979, 360 externally combusted

Putting in a 75 440 out of a new Yorker
 
Big Block motor mounts for pickups and vans are not exactly easy to find, but there out there. The hard part will probably be the oil pan and pickup tube, Mancinni has them (they ain't cheep). Exhaust manifolds for trucks are center dump and are prone to cracking in the middle. Big Block A/C radiators are getting almost non-existent in good condition, however... Slant 6 A/C or heavy duty cooling is the same, both have the inlet on the passenger side. The version is a little more common and some parts houses still list that application. The engine wiring harness will need to be a Big Block version or you'll need to modify the wires going to the distributor and coil.
 
No need for the short tail shaft trans. I've only seen them in the RV's with an extended wheel base or ones with GVW at 10,000 or greater. The short tail shaft will require a two piece drive shaft also. Just match to what you have under there to keep things simple.
 
Ok,,, I have hedman headers, the 360 trans appears to be the same leanth as the 440 trans, I seem to remember it being a 2 pce drive shaft, currently missing psp, and alt, any chance of using the alt, psp and belts/pulleys off a 3.9? Lastly need a cooling fan, the 440 and 360 were fanless, when I got them, I have a 318 fan but it's only 5 blade, and smaller diameter, I also have a mildon 7qt oil pan for trucks/vans, and iirc 1/2" rear sump pickup
