I have owned several 80's vintage D and W series Rams and Ramchargers and everyone has developed leaks that show up on the cab

floor around the dimmer switch and parking brake. In one case it happened even with a new windshield and gasket in place.

Have never found the source but believe it must be common. What am I overlooking?

Thanks,
TWH, new to the forum.

Roof drip rails that the sealant has fallen out of, missing windshield seal ribbon, intering the cab with muddy and wet shoes. But I have come to the conclusion that there was a factory flaw when it came to sealing the crallow.

Thanks, I will look at the rain gutters. Happens during moderate rain storms while parked. Have tried oarking on level ground and at other angles and have had the valance at the wipers and fenders off several and found no obivious leaks or cracks but have been suspect of some areas in the firewall seams.

Look at the debris that accumulates from the cowl area, it goes right behind where the parking brake is, mine was rotted out.

I have one in the shop right now with the engine out and the fenders are off, will check the area you mentioned.
Thanks

if the fenders are off you will see a bulge thing with a slit in it that is where it accumulates. I think it is a water drain? for the cowl

Are you referring to the irregular (almost pie shaped) slots in the upper sides of the curved section of the bulged area?

Will take a close look at them to be sure they don't allow water to build up in that area.

Thanks,
TWH

That area is notorious for collecting crap . One of the first things I do when I get one of these trucks is pull the vent covers and the windshield cowl and take a blow gun and get everything out of these . You wouldn't believe how much leaves , twigs and such was in there when I first got my Warlock . It was so full that as soon as I took the vent cover off , it was packed above the vent hole it's self . The gaskets for the vents are also known for drying out and falling apart . The heater box's and the heater's air intake are also known for filling up with leaves and such ( Passenger side ) .

Here is something funny When I go the truck was apart for at least five years, the chipmunks were living in it well, The exhaust was full of acorn and debris. When it first started It smelled like wood burning for a while, I revved it an the wall of the shop media blasted with roasted nuts! I am still getting them out of the vents! But anyway the cowl area filled a 5 gallon bucket with debris. Most came from either side in the area we are discussing.

Thanks for the leads. Will be pulling the driver side vent and checking the gaskets.

I'm not surprised . That's why these area's tend to rot out . I got lucky with this truck because it was a low miles southern truck , so no rust or rot issues because of it . If you ever have issues with bad heat , I'm willing to bet that your heater box would be full of that crap as well .
