install a 60's bigblock "440" in 2nd gen ram with 47re trans
Anyone tried

The trans won’t bolt up. You need a big block specific trans. The last year was 1978.

For the trans you will either need a adapter plate to mate it to the big block or a JW ultra bell. I have looking into this before and the price is very close either way you choose

They make adapters you know.
I didn’t know, actually. Every big block I ever owned, had the correct transmission. Had it built for the application and was done. I saw the price. $1200 for the adapter, plus having the transmission built to handle it. Why would anyone do that? I’m sure a good core could be found and rebuilt for much cheaper. You’d never save enough money on gas, to justify the cost.
