I have a D150, every once in a while the truck starts to buck and run rough. When it is at idle when running rough it seems that the timing is going way out. The computer is in the air cleaner housing, when i tap it the engine starts running smoothly again, does any one know how to test the computer? I have a multimeter and am a mechanic but was trained in 2006 and am not familiar with 80s ecus. Can i get another one some where and does the transmission matter, auto or stick? Thanks for the help.
