Supposedly some coming tuesday or wednesday, if only that came sooner. For now it seems the ridge is holding it back, about 5 miles from the house. Just hope the winds don't shift again and push it over
Been a while since I've been on, but seemed like a good time to make an appearance. Thanks to the freak windstorm we got here in the PNW, multiple fires sparked up across the state, one of which was within 40 miles. Woke up to dark, smokey red skies raining ash, coulda swore I woke up in a...
Sunny and fairly warm today. Almost didn't need a sweatshirt. Sposed to be a little warmer tomorrow. I might actually go short sleeves first time this year
I've been away for a good bit. Saturday was Grandpa's funeral, so I spent the whole week up til then getting the house ready. Day of the funeral, weather kept teetering between torrential downpour and sunshine, typical Oregon weather can't make up its damn mind. The service went fine, most...
That's about what we had last night. Yesterday was partly sunny and dry, just after midnight the clouds moved in and around 5 it started snowing. All gone by noon and sunny again
That's not my Grandpa's, just a stock pic off google. Grandpa's looks way worse for wear. His is also custom, so it makes finding out what exact year and model a pain. I loved that tractor though, spent my whole life around it. Definitely pulled more legwork around the property than any of us...
You got a picture of that farmall? We got our Grandpa's that we're gonna try to have fixed by the time his birthday rolls around, as something to remember him by. Looks like this guy, except Gramps got one custom setup with wide front track and a bucket/hydro setup...
Thanks, yeah we got firewood stacked and got to sandbagging parts of the foundation for the time being to keep this downpour from flooding the lower parts of the house. Snow might come in a day or two, but for now it's just a torrent of rain
Well this past week has been a long one, and in no way a good one. Last monday, my Grandpa passed away. Really hit the whole family hard. We've been trying to get through it by staying busy, keeping our minds off it while we get all assets and affairs taken care of.
Still got some cleaning up to do, but with my uncle's help I got new lights up in the garage today. Maybe now I can see what the hell I'm doing
Got one of my toolboxes moved into the back room (you can barely see it through the door). With those back there I get another foot of working space
Thank all of the transplants moving up here, especially the California Exodus. Thanks to cost of living being so relatively high in Cali, high property values here and lots of people moving in with the money to afford that, it's a property developer's wet dream.
Yeah midwest soil I hear tends to be a bit more clay-like. I guess there's a reason most of the nation's christmas trees are grown here Christmas tree production in the United States - Wikipedia I live in the southern Willamette Valley that they mention in that section.
Got the christmas tree put up a couple days ago. With the price they're charging nowadays, I'm better off putting our 8 acres to use growing our own trees.
Guess who got a perfectly good wood chipper for $80?
Saw it on fb marketplace, guy got it with his house when he moved in but couldn't get it to run ever. I see it has the same engine as the old one I swapped out on my splitter, so I know the $100 harbor freight engine fits (even at $180 it'd...
