Just remember , You can have allllll the motor in the world under the hood . But if it's not built to what your putting it in , It'll never be what you thought . Just say'in
Hey , Rant on my friend . I totally hear what your saying . It seems like everyone is jumping on the diesel swap band wagon . Like I said , I'm a gas engine type of guy myself and my preference is Big Block Mopars . But I'll be honest with you , I don't mind getting my hands in an Old's motor...
So tell us what you really think Mob ! :) lol Seriously though , I understand what your saying . I like my gas engine's too . I've had this discussion with some friends of mine that keep telling me to go diesel . And I do plan on a Cummins swap at some pint . But it'll be in either a 77/78 club...
You cans till do that with your 383 without strolling it . You just got to dot he right things and use the right parts . I built a small block for the 78 Ramcharger I had that had more then enough torque to pull a tree down ( It did by the way lol ) and more then enough horsepower to buggie down...
For what your doing with your truck , Why even think about stroking it ? There's nothing wrong with a 383 B block with the right parts in it . Just my two cents ( Once again lol ) .
He's right , you'd be surprised at how many people didn't open there hoods even though it was a show , show and not a cruise . I think everyone just wanted to have a good time and didn't worry about anything .
Thanks , I try to get good angles and such when I take pictures . It was a really good show . I think this is the third or forth time we've been to this one . The people that throw it have always been friendly to us and there's always a good group of rides there . To top it off , when you enter...
By the way , That willy's was a "real" one with a steel body , vin numbers and everything . It's not a kit like most of them you see . That's always been my dream car for as long as I can remember . :)
The Movie was "Hot Rod" made in 1979 . It's one of my favorite gear head movies . :) "Two lane blacktop" had a primered double nickel in it . Still a good gear head movie . I think one of the beach boy's played a roll in that one .
Good to know , But I think he's got almost everything to do the build . It'll take a lil time for the 451 though because he's in the middle of getting the engine in his 79 Dakota small block drag truck .
