Someone is going to chime in here that has that setup. The last one I saw was an 87 with /6. Seems it had two bolts on firewall for master, a remote fluid reservoir and the slave on the bell housing. The master pressure tube goes to the slave. They worked very well (B150) nice and smooth but...

Totally agree. That's seems to be the key with the 4.7 (and the 5.7)....oil change! My local service manager said change the oil regularly. My 2002 Dakota 4.7 with 456 gears was always driven hard but, not abused. I used full synthetic, Wix and changed 3-5K. I sold it at 125K no ticks, leaks...

I was at the same place with my /6 and a833 OD. I went with a 440/727 but there are times I wish I would have stuck with the other. Make sure you have low gears with the OD. I think the last truck around 86ish, I had was a 3.55 or 3.73 but, I really don't remember.
