looking into lowering am 84 2wd shortie i just bought my on for his grad . Axle flip in the back with Dakota drop spindles in the front? is this what everyone is doing ? What year of dakota drop spindles should i use ? I ve read 87-90 and 91 -96 are different but yet separate posts show both...
wanting to install a mechanical gauge in addition to the stock gauge on my 84 with my 440 swap, there is pipe plug on the passengers side of the block at the rear behind the intake , right next to the port for the factory gauge, can i use this port with a pipe adapter for the mechanical gauge...
what are you guys doing for rear shocks?my truck was lowered before i bought it but the I'm pretty sure the stock rear shocks are still in it , and the angle on them is i would not say not very optimal.. has anyone moved the upper mount ? and what are you guys using for a smaller shock... i am...
i don't have any smiles per gallon data.. lol
new motor setup is going in as we speak , went from a small block to a 440 based 512, will take some pics
i swapped the engine brackets out today , with the summit ones. engine fits better, sits forward maybe 3/8ths of an inch, cleared heater box and there is more adjustment for engine side to side, the centre for better header clearance... might try oblonging booster holes out to move it up 1/4...
buochilon kits was used , but i also bought a set of transdapt ones from summit, they are quite a bit different but put the motor in the same spot roughly. i swapped the brackets out today and things fit better with the summit ones, they move the engine forward 3/8 of an inch which makes heater...
all the mounts seem to fit ok, but the motor dissent fit that well, valve cover is almost touching booster, rh valve cover touches heater box cover plate ( thinking of removing it and heating up late and putting a clearance dent in it..the drivers side header has no room between centre tube and...
slid the 440 in, has some major fitment issues, drivers side header is tight against frame , valve cover is 1/4 away from booster.. and rh side fits tight against heater box, i will have to notch drivers side frame oil top by 1/4 inch to clear header. (headmans) and maybe try and remove 1/2 inch...
thats pretty much what i was gonna do , slide motor in and fit headers, then pull it back out , thinking of denting the tubes for plug clearance and then sending them out to be ceramic coated..
every header i get will have to be ordered in , as nowhere around here stocks anything!!!!! which make returning stuff expensive and everyone cranky..
leaning towards headman, haven't had good luck with hooker in the last few years..
bought a set of hooker super comps for my big block sway...

ok now its down to headers.. what you guys running and what fits?? i have headman small block headers now and fit is good.. anyone run the 440 ones?? ON the Facebook dodge dw site they are telling me that b body headers fit the truck application, anyone done this?? what year and how do they...
